A group of pass from one house to another singing a song, resembling the Buddhist tradition. these songs are also called as Pichapattukal.To keep rhythm instruments like chaplangatta and jalar are used. From ancient days Buddhists sanyasies entered the houses in Kerala and sung religious songs. They were singing and begging. These coastal folklore songs are not printed so far. They were in manuscript form and some songs were composed 400 years ago.
